HELLO!

I'm Grace, the founder of Fernweh Home. I'm so glad you're here!

Fernweh Home is an online shop based in my hometown of Terre Haute, Indiana. Our mission is to connect you with unique, handcrafted home and lifestyle goods from artisans around the world.

Fernweh is a German word meaning wanderlust, a desire to travel, or a longing for far off places. Travel has always been a huge part of my life. My first international excursion was at thirteen and since then I've been blessed to visit twelve different countries. There is little else more inspiring to me than exploring new places and I became captivated by the idea of bringing a little bit of this feeling into my day to day. I loved the concept of a blanket connecting you to artisans in Mexico and Turkey or a basket to weavers in Morocco. Basically I wanted to add a little Fernweh into my home + life through meaningful items. After returning from a trip to Germany I launched a website from my kitchen table with a single line of Falsa blankets and ended up with a thriving full time job that I love!

I hope my little shop helps to satisfy the adventurer within and assist your everyday journeys.
